It’s December already, and I ‘won’ NaNoWriMo, finishing the month with 59,000 words. It was exciting, and every night instead of reading, I was writing. Now I have (another!) unfinished novel in need of editing. Wait, is that ‘winning’? I’m shooting for a completed first draft by Christmas.
My soaps, lotions, bath salts and lip balms are at Pierson’s through December. Every year, the local home improvement center turns its entire Garden Store into a winter wonderland and one-stop-shop for local vendors. It’s a month-long look at the great products Humboldt County creates. I’ve participated since 2005, and it’s a fantastic opportunity.
Pierson’s has been in business for more than 50 years. It is locally owned and operated. This is how money stays in a community; Home Depot and Walmart don’t open their space to local crafters, soapmakers, glassblowers, jewelers, candlemakers, knitters, chocolatiers, and more.
If you are in the area, it’s a great place to pick up some soaps, support local entrepreneurs, and score some unique christmas gifts. If you are buying on the site, use coupon code december25 for 25% off all purchases this month. Remember, shipping is always free, and during December I like to play secret Santa and put a freebie or two in every order!
